Last Year, LINX spent over 75,000 Hours on Safety Education
Safety is non-negotiable for our projects, and it requires more than mere compliance. We strive to build a culture where every worker, every system, and every decision puts people first.
At LINX, this philosophy is embedded at every level, from leadership to jobsites. Our full-time, ten-member safety division is led by industry veteran Norm Meis, who brings over 35 years of construction safety experience.
MORE FROM LINX: Adding Value-Add Support and Systems
Safety at the Core
LINX’s safety program reports directly to the COO to maximize accountability at the executive level. That organizational structure allows our safety team to operate independently and objectively. Our sole purpose? Ensure every team member goes home safe at the end of the day.
Norm Meis is a certified STSC Professional, Authorized OSHA Trainer, and certified trainer for Confined Space, Fork & Aerial Lifts, Fall Protection, and Scaffolding. Under his leadership, the LINX safety division manages everything from onboarding to compliance tracking to job-specific risk mitigation strategies across the country. In 2024 alone, we’ve invested over 75,000 hours in safety education, which is an extraordinary figure that reflects our commitment to proactive planning over reactive response.
Education and Empowerment
Every new hire begins with structured onboarding that includes job-specific safety training. But LINX’s safety culture doesn’t stop there. Daily toolbox talks, monthly safety newsletters, and on-site visits reinforce standards and open communication. Employees are encouraged to report near misses and are empowered with “Stop Work Authority,” meaning anyone can pause a job if they feel safety is at risk, without fear of repercussions.
Jordan Malzner, Sr. Site Safety at Clayco Corporation, said it best:
“LINX’s performance on safety starts with their safety culture. From the first day on site, all LINX employees are brought into the safety program onsite. LINX’s safety planning of tasks shows their maturity as a safety program, and it has shown proven results.”
Certified, Trained, and Ready
LINX’s internal safety capabilities go far beyond industry minimums. While many companies rely on third-party providers, LINX has two in-house OSHA-authorized trainers, allowing us to offer OSHA-10 and OSHA-30 training, Ladder Safety, and equipment-specific certifications like Forklift and Aerial Lift Operation on demand.
The team also tracks all certifications through our LINX Trax platform, keeping employees compliant and up-to-date. When certifications near expiration, we have in-house coordinators who schedule training, never asking employees to complete coursework off the clock.
Designing Safety for Real-World Conditions
LINX projects often involve sensitive environments like data centers, hospitals, and correctional facilities. That means safety measures must extend beyond jobsite hazards. Our team provides additional certifications, such as ICRA training for infection control, and works with general contractors and property owners to meet strict environmental safety standards.
From fit-for-purpose PPE—including cut-resistant gloves—to strict Ladder Safety protocols (LINX is 100% ladder-certified), every detail is considered.
Even after incidents occur, LINX has systems in place to support recovery and improvement. Programs like Return-to-Work help injured employees re-enter the field safely, while jobsite-specific mitigation plans address any safety gaps with measurable accountability.
National Recognition, Local Commitment
LINX participates in Construction Safety Week events nationwide and has received jobsite recognition from top general contractors for its proactive safety culture. Most recently, a LINX team in Salt Lake City led a 300-person discussion on empowering leadership to embrace and model safety behavior—a reminder that culture starts at the top.
At LINX, safety is a shared value, a technical discipline, and a business imperative. Hyperscale & enterprise decision-makers can trust that LINX approaches every project, no matter how large or complex, with a zero-compromise attitude on safety.Learn more about LINX’s approach to risk management and safety here.
