Minimum Requirements 

  • Minimum 1 year experience as an RF Installation Technician or in a similar role. 
  • Willingness and ability to travel (up to 50%) 
  • Strong understanding of radio frequency principles and components: propagation, interference, oscillation, as well as cabling, antennas, and couplers. 
  • Proficient in using RF Test Equipment 
  • Anritsu S332E Site Master 
  • Kaelus iVa sweep tester 
  • PCTEL SeeGull iBFlex scanner 
  • Praxsym Signal Generator 
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as IFC 2021 and NFPA 1225. 
  • Ability to read and interpret codes and standards 
  • Willingness to obtain NICET IB-PSC Level 1 credential, FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License, and Comba Certification 
  • Must be able to work on ladders and use power tools; ability to lift/carry/setup a 50 pound box or ladder 
  • Ability to terminate 1/2″ HELIAX cable and build connectors 
  • High level of comfort with Microsoft Office software suite, computer and cloud storage solutions, taking notes and site photo documentation 
  • Effective organizational and documentation skills 
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. 

Travel Requirements 

Able and willing to travel 50% – 75% of the time 

Pay Rate:  

$26.00 – $30.00 / hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • RF Surveys: 
  • Perform site assessments of new construction and existing buildings to determine whether an amplification system is needed. 
  • Annual Inspections and Maintenance: 
  • Conduct routine inspections to confirm continued operation of installed systems and capture any issues that need to be addressed. 
  • Troubleshooting & Repair: 
  • Diagnose and resolve minor technical problems related to RF equipment and systems. 
  • Analyze and interpret signal strength, isolation, and sweep test results to identify failing or damaged components. 
  • Documentation: 
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities. 
  • Provide comprehensive documentation for all RF systems, including configuration details and technical specifications. 
  • Client Support: 
  • Interface directly with clients while engaged in service requests in a professional and timely manner. 
  • Provide explanation of activities and/or findings to end-users as needed. 
  • Compliance and Regulations: 
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards related to RF technology. 
  • Stay informed about updates in codes and standards and their impact on our work. 

Job Summary:   

We are seeking a highly curious and motivated Radio Frequency Service Technician to join our team. In this role, you will ensure the optimal performance and reliability of existing systems, and survey buildings to assess the need for installation of a new system. 

This position requires a strong technical competency in RF technology, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work in a customer-facing environment. It will involve deploying to a variety of location types and engaging with different kinds of people as you move through their places of work.
