LINX is hiring a Low Voltage Lead Technician to run crews of 5 or more technicians on commercial construction cabling projects, paying $26.00 to $35.00 an hour depending on experience.
This is a working lead role, not a desk job. You’re still terminating cable and running tests alongside your crew, but you’re also the one planning manpower, tracking daily progress, and keeping the Project Foreman and Project Manager informed when the schedule is on the line. LINX’s Enterprise division moves between corporate offices, hospitals, education campuses, and other commercial and industrial environments and this role is a direct step on the path to Foreman and Superintendent.
Where This Role Fits at LINX
Technician I → Technician II → Technician III → Lead Technician → Foreman → Superintendent → Project Manager → Senior Project Manager → Operations Manager.

Installation & Testing
- Terminate jacks, patch panels, and 66/110 blocks to 568A/B color code standards

- Install and configure switches, routers, modems, and wireless access points
- Run and terminate category cable and coax (RG6, RG11, RG59), and build out MDF/IDF closets
- Operate Hilti powder actuated tools, hammer drills, and band saws safely on active job sites
Account & Customer Coordination
- Own account coordination on assigned projects, including direct customer interaction and issue resolution
- Prepare and communicate status reports that keep customers and the Project Manager informed
Quality & Documentation
- Maintain technical, quality, and profitability standards on every project to ensure top level customer satisfaction
- Keep accurate, efficient timesheets and job documentation

- Ability to install and configure switches, routers, modems, and wireless access points
- Experience with category cable, coax (RG6, RG11, RG59), and fiber (RG6/RG11/RG59 coax and fiber buildouts)
- Ability to operate Hilti powder actuated tools, hammer drills, band saws, and standard low voltage power tools
- Ability to lift, carry, and set up a 50-pound box or ladder
- Must own a complete set of personal low voltage hand tools (snips, strippers, screwdrivers, wrenches)
- Available to work 2nd or 3rd shift, overtime, and under deadline pressure
- Must pass a 7-year criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen, and physical
