Job Summary:  

The Business Applications Specialist will create, maintain, and improve software systems used internally within the LINX organization, helping enhance the operational efficiency and meet the organization’s specific needs. This role requires strong technical skills (e.g., database management, Java, coding, debugging) alongside problem-solving and communication abilities to align technical solutions with business goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Application Development and Support 

  • Design: Assisting in the design of tailored applications to address specific needs.
  • Development: Build and maintain internal applications and tools using low code/no-code platforms, Microsoft products and spreadsheets. Writing code using Java, macros, and proprietary scripting. Deploy solutions and provide initial training.
  • Customization: Modify existing applications and tools to align with evolving business requirements.

Integration of Data and Databases 

  • Data Integration: Ensure internal systems work seamlessly by integrating databases, APIs, and third-party software.
  • Data Flow Management: Build workflows and connections to enable smooth data exchange between various tools.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting 

  • System Support: Monitor performance, resolve system bugs, and ensure minimal downtime for internal applications.
  • Troubleshooting: Provide technical support to staff encountering issues with internal systems.

Collaboration with Teams 

  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with departments such as HR, finance, or operations to understand their requirements.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Translate business needs into technical specifications for system enhancements.

Security and Compliance 

  • Application Security: Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard sensitive internal data.
  • Compliance: Ensure internal systems adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Reporting and Optimization 

  • Data Reporting: Create systems or tools to generate reports and dashboards for business insights.
  • Optimization: Analyze and improve system performance to enhance efficiency.

Minimum Requirements 

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to translate complex business needs into technical solutions.
  • Knowledge of various programming languages including Java and SQL.
  • Knowledge of database structures and relationships, specifically with SQL.
  • Experience with low-code/no-code tools to build applications.
  • Experience with system architecture, design methodologies, and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Understanding of business logic, workflow development, database development & software development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated and able to identify problems and solutions on your own.
  • A strong desire to help people be more efficient and drive the future success of the business.

Preferred Experience 

  • Microsoft Dynamics CRM experience is preferred
  • MS Dynamics GP admin experience is preferred
  • SharePoint experience is preferred
  • TrackVia experience is preferred
  • Certification in Citizen Developer
  • Experience using Microsoft Power Apps

Pay Rate: 

$75,000 – $90,000 / year
