Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage or participate in project kick off meetings that may include Sales, Design and Engineering, other Project Managers and/or LINX staff to gain overall project vision and define project schedule.
- Schedule and conduct project walk-throughs with appropriate employees, subcontractors, general contractors, and clients.
- Facilitate relationship-building with other trades. Issue, track and oversee work performed by others.
- Conduct client interviews to gather information for the Project Scope and as necessary introduce members of the LINX team or other tradespeople.
- Assist in managing project budget including, but not limited to, labor hours, materials, equipment, expenses and subcontractor costs.
- Position may require the knowledge and use of project shifters, WIP reports, recognized revenue forecasting and other financial metrics related to project execution and delivery.
- Ensure all equipment and materials are ordered, received, and staged prior to the start of the project. Coordinate ordering, deliveries and receipt through the LINX procurement team.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to jobsite. Anticipate long lead items and build delivery delays into the project schedule(s) and set client expectations.
- Track key project milestones and adjust project plans and/or resources to meet client needs and requirements.
- Manage, track and process change order requests from the client. Coordinate with the appropriate sales resources for pricing and client acceptance as required.
- Maintain and manage project documents throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with other subcontractors and external resources as well as with other LINX Project and Operations Managers.
- Provide daily and/or weekly updates to the client on project status, scheduling, and open issues as required for the size and complexity of the project. Delivery of reports may be verbal or documented via forms or other methods.
- Escalate problems, schedule delays, quality issues and other project-impacting matters in an appropriate and timely matter.
- Communicate project status with the Operations Manager on a weekly basis and/or ad hoc basis.
- Maintain overall project quality control, adherence to client’s specifications and overall project satisfaction and delivery.
- Provide technical assistance to subcontractors, LINX staff and other resources as necessary to complete the project and ensure customers’ expectations are being met.
- Initiate and maintain Change Order logs to track project change from cradle to grave.
- Conduct or coordinate orientation training for LINX staff or subcontractors so that work is performed in quality, efficient and timely manner.
- Perform post Project Performance Summaries and Lessons Learned on notable or ‘high-profile’ projects.
- Assure that all time and resources are budgeted properly for maximum return on investment.
Minimum Requirements
- One year of project management experience in a construction environment
- Two years experience in the commercial construction or low voltage industry
- Minimum 2-years’ experience managing a commercial construction team
- Must be proficient with desktop computer software and systems especially Microsoft Office
- Organizational and Time Management Skills
- Must possess the basics of the project management lifecycle including initiation, planning, estimating/budgeting, delivery, monitoring and closeout.
- Self directed individual.
- Ability to develop timeline necessary for design, procurement mobilization and project delivery.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and customers at various stages of the project life cycle.
- Valid Colorado Driver’s License
Preferred Experience
- Two-year college degree preferred.
- PMP Certification preferred
- Prior experience with low voltage installations in commercial buildings; base knowledge of general construction; experience reading and understanding blueprints; prior experience with networking protocols, LAN/WAN concepts, and TCP/IP networking
- BICSI, Technician, or Installation Certification
- OSHA 10
- Powder Actuated Tools Certification
- Confined Space Certification
- CPR and First aid certified
- Manufacturers certifications for Installation and Maintenance
- Lift Certified
Pay Rate:
$75,000 – $100,000/year
