Job Summary:
We are seeking a diligent and hard-working Accounting Manager with a strong background in commercial construction accounting. The Accounting Manager will oversee critical financial functions, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), supporting audits, and interacting professionally with upper management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, WIP (Work-in-Progress) reports, and other construction-specific accounting reports.
- Assist in financial and 401k audits, credit reviews, and sales tax reporting.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and support the Controller with financial planning and decision-making.
- Implement and manage ERP systems and other financial software tools to optimize accounting processes.
- Collaborate with upper management and external auditors to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Develop and set expectations for accounting staff, fostering a culture of diligence and accountability.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with large commercial construction contracts.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Master’s degree in Accounting is preferred.
- Experience: 5-7 years of private accounting experience, with a preference for commercial construction accounting.
- Management: Demonstrated experience managing a team of at least 5-10 staff accountants.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
- Strong knowledge of WIP (Work-in-Progress) reports.
- Experience with credit reporting, financial audits, and sales tax compliance.
- Understanding of GAAP and ability to ensure compliance in all financial operations.
- Certifications: CPA license is not required, but strong financial acumen is essential.

Pay Rate:
$105,000 – $120,000 / year + bonus opportunities
