LINX is seeking a highly qualified Safety Officer to join our team. As a leader in data center construction and structured cabling, we prioritize safety and compliance in every project. The Safety Officer will ensure adherence to safety regulations, develop comprehensive safety plans, and foster a culture of workplace safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Safety Program Development and Management:
- Implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and programs tailored to data center construction and structured cabling projects.
- Create and manage Site Specific Safety Plans (SSSP), Job Hazard Analyses (JHA), and Pre-Task Safety Analyses (PTSA).
Compliance and Risk Mitigation:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
- Conduct regular job site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; document findings and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Training and Education:
- Provide safety training to employees, including topics such as hazard identification, safe work practices, and equipment use.
- Ensure workers are knowledgeable about and compliant with safety standards and certifications.
Communication and Reporting:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related matters on job sites.
- Report safety concerns, incidents, and compliance metrics to management in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation of all safety activities and compliance efforts.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work closely with project managers, supervisors, and crew members to embed safety into all project operations.
- Participate in pre-construction meetings to identify safety considerations and strategies.
- Foster a culture of safety awareness and accountability across the organization.
Equipment and Site Oversight:
- Monitor the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools on-site.
- Verify that safety equipment and systems are properly maintained and functional.
Specialized Skills (Preferred):
- Assist with cabling-related tasks if required, including reading drawings, building closets, placing pathways, and terminating jacks and panels.
- Support active data center operations with safety insights and guidelines.
Minimum Requirements
***One of the three numbered points must be met to serve as a LINX Safety Officer. Please list all certifications on your resume.***
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, plus one year of practical safety experience in the construction industry.
- 5-years of relevant safety experience in construction plus an OSHA 30
- One of these three safety certifications, plus three years of practical safety experience in the construction industry.
- STSC: Safety Trained Supervisor for Construction
- CHST: Construction Health and Safety Technician
- CSP: Certified Safety Professional
Additional Requirements
- Can proficiently develop an SSSP: Site Specific Safety Plan
- Can proficiently develop a JHA: Job Hazard Analysis
- Can proficiently develop a PTSA: Pre-Task Safety Analysis
- Local to Cheyenne or willing to relocate
- Has reliable vehicle
- Has Driver’s License in good standing
- Can pass a drug screen and background check- no felonies
- Can demonstrate experienced track record of detailed proficiency in on-the-job safety adherence and compliance
- Communicates well, both written and oral
- Highly organized, detail oriented
- Takes direction well, Coachable
- Works well with others
Additional Certifications
- OSHA 510 or 500 certification – preferred
- Has State of Wyoming Low-voltage License – preferred
- Has Cheyenne Municipal Low-voltage License – preferred
Preferred Skills
- Bi-Lingual – English & Spanish
- Has proficient experience in Active Data Center Operations
- Any practical telecom experience
- Builds cable closets
- Places network cabling pathways
- Pulls and dresses network cabling
- Can terminate jacks and panels
- Can read dwgs
- Vaccinated a plus
Pay Rate:
$28.00 – $35.00/hour
